Upon graduating from NHCTC, Nashua with over 750 hours of training, I began my private practice in Brattleboro, VT. As a student, I had the honor of being educated by some of the finest professionals that were able to share their knowledge and years of experience in fields such as chiropractic care, sports medicine, health care (Eastern & Western), and of course massage therapy.
In addition to managing my practice located in Brattleboro VT, I have experience in both spa and health club environments performing massage. I am a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association and continue to explore the training and educational resources that are available to me so that I am able to further help my clients.
My style has changed quite dramatically since I began my practice as I've come to further appreciate the mind / body connection. When a client is on my table, I am so much more aware of the person, rather than just the body that I was trained to work on. We are more than skin, bones and muscles and when our individual bodies are nurtured and cared for, our minds and spirits are being nurtured as well. Massage & touch are simple, yet profound ways that allow people to release physical discomfort while gently encouraging the release of deeply held emotional discomfort.
I currently volunteer chair massage at a drug & alcohol recovery center in hopes of introducing the power of touch to individuals who are in the recovery process. I truly believe that touch allows us to understand what it means to be still, quiet and to "go within" rather than seek outward, unhealthy and sometimes self destructive distractions as a form of escapism. Massage and touch have the unique ability to affect our entire being - from the spiritual plane all the way up to and including our chemical composition.
To achieve balance of body, mind & spirit is to acquire overall good health and happiness!
